As you no doubt have heard, a combination hurricane/nor'easter called Sandy ripped through our area on Monday the 29th. I've had many people ask me how we fared during the storm (and thank you all for your concern). We were unscathed, but other parts of New York, New Jersey, and Connecticut were not so lucky.
Burke and I went on a walk the day the storm hit. Here's a shot I took showing the heavy winds.
Nearby Fort Tryon Park has been closed for almost a week now, and several of its trees have been blown over or snapped. And the day after the storm, I found this light post down near a subway stop down the street.
